On the evening of Dec. 12, I went on a journey. It’s not that
I actually went anywhere. It’s more like I was transported,
taken gently by Mordechai Robert Edel into his creative world, his
world of Torah inspiration.
In songs and music, in words and in thoughtful meanderings through
Kabbalistic lore, Mordechai led me and some 300 others who attended the
opening of his exhibition, “One Soul Candle” at the
VPL gallery, on a spirited and spiritual journey into the realm of his
amazing, evocative art.
Chagall - like in style and substance, his paintings reach to the
heart. They probe towards the soul. They explore. They seek to express
healing through joy, happiness through sanctification, harmony through
peace and, above all, they seek to express a life of Torah, of study
and knowledge, of spiritual light and illumination.
So you see, it was quite a journey I went on with Mordechai. And he lit
the way, you may say, simply with his “One Soul
Candle”. |
